Which Child Is At Risk Of Being Sexually Abused?

Every child is at risk, no matter what their religion or culture. No matter how religious a family is, it does not disqualify the child from sexual abuse.

Many times the victim comes from a very religious family. Or the abuse comes from outside sources who are religious, eg, priests, church goers, etc.

Many children are being abused in day care centers across the globe. It would seem that abuse is going up, however what it really indicates is that pedophiles have access to more children than ever before possible.

School children, sick children, disabled children, homeless children, children in orphanages or choirs, any of these children run the risk of being molested, and the list goes on.

Reports from Every Country

There are reports of abuse from every country in the world. There are some countries where the problem is more prevalent than others.

Either gender, female or male are at risk.

Children are much safer if they are taught about the risks of molestation.

What Age is a Child More Likely to Suffer Sexual Abuse

There are reports that a child is more likely to be abused between the ages of 8-12, this is the time they begin pubescence. Whilst this is the age group which will be targeted most, these children are of an age where they can remember and later in life report it. Some may report it to a parent or other adult figure whilst still young.

Younger children are also molested, however they are too young to remember unless the abuse continues. So it goes unreported, unless someone finds out about it, usually the mother.

Girls are more likely to be molested than boys. Statistics give us an idea that one out of three girls, and one out of seven boys are sexually abused.

Unfortunately more and more children are being put in a situation where they can be sexually abused by offenders who feel they have a 'smorgasbord' of children to choose from. These offenders are the majority of the time in a position of trust.
